Welcome to the David Silden Brass Ensemble web site

Who We Are

The David Silden Brass Ensemble is an informal group of musicians in the Charlotte Metropolitan region. It includes approximately 125 musicians who perform their music on trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba. They gather once a year to present a program of music written for the large (ten and above) brass ensemble.

Within this ensemble there are many smaller groups of four, five, six and some times larger numbers of brass instruments that perform more often.

The Dusty Sandals Low Brass ensemble is one group which presents programs on a regular basis to various retirement communities. It is comprised of a horn, baritone, euphonium and tuba.

The David Silden Brass Quintet presents all styles and genera's of brass music.

The Charlotte Tuba Euphonium Ensemble is a group of low brass specialist who enjoy performing original music written just for their instruments as well as transcriptions of works written for other mediums of music.

A group of instrumentalists that has organized as a result of their experiences within The David Silden Brass Ensemble is the "Charlotte Horn Society." You will be hearing more from them in the future.

The Charlotte Tuba Euphonium Ensemble met in June, Aug, Oct, & Dec. 2009 in order to read music written for the tuba euphonium ensemble. We will be meeting again in Jan. of 2010. If you are interested and play a euphonium or tuba please contact us at dave@dsbe.org*
